Before everything went digital and we could prank call without caller ID, drank from a water hose and had no idea what Red Dye 40 was.

I feel like these days I get to so overstimulated so easily, between work and kids, kids sports and all the noise and opinions. I find myself actively pushing the news away and going outside to my garden.

Finding peace in baking from scratch instead of buying out of convenience. Building a soft legacy instead of climbing a corporate ladder.

I know you hear me, I know you feel this way.

I want to build a community where we can support each other for not being productive.
Relaxing without justification.

Im overstimulated, raising teens and a toddler. My plants and garden keep me sane. I can’t be only one on the brink of a felony if I hear someone chew.

I live in a Zone 5, cold climate and I’m on a journey to bring my Martha Stewart Garden Pinterest board to life this summer.
I also make organic tallow body care because if I smell one more Bath & Body works or Sol de Janeiro scent in my house I might throw up. And I’m too old to boot and rally.
My teens think I’m crazy… excuse me, “cringe”. My toddler loves me so much he never stops says “Mama”.

We grew up in the “suck it up” generation.

Now we want to give our kids a 90’s aesthetic summer, why? Because we want them out of the house and off devices that overstimulate us.

Will a garden solve these problems? Probably not. But you cant get a felony if you’re stringing up your Sweet Pea flowers.

I know it’s hard. We see everyone’s spring flowers blooming before us, warm sunny days across the states and we are still wearing winter coats and boots.
Patiently waiting for the frost free nights so can stop shuffling seedlings in and out.

Extending the growing season without a greenhouse takes planning and patience. Two things I don’t have much of.
As an older millennial with three kids, I’m starting seeds in the kitchen after making dinner or in between lacrosse games.

My goal is to finally bring my Martha Stewart garden Pinterest board to life this year.. in the nooks and crannies of my day. Because mama doesn’t have a lot of time for Grandma Hobbies .
